New member intro and couple of questions

Hi everyone, I am in the UK and in the process of making my first medieval style crossbow. I have a fine piece of ash and most of the component parts I need. I am new to working with both wood and metal, but quite handy, however I am taking this slowly I have two initial questions: I have made a rolling nut and tickler from mild steel. Do I need the ticker to be hardened on the tip? The bow will not be in excess of 150lbs. Prod bought from Alcheminc. Also, the trigger passage. ...
